We are getting a pool at the back of the yard and are about 75% done. Luce came down to check out the progress but he could only come to here. The way he was sitting, this was the best angle. Stay tuned for when it is finished and Luce can check it out up close.
We put in a home sauna and as you probably know, Luce does not like the heat. Not that we would ever consider letting him in it, but, he was very curious about it. When Stacey and I tried it out, he wanted to be in the room so we figured that would be OK. He seemed pretty puzzled as to why we were in there but probably liked that he could still see us.
Happy Birthday to our beautiful Luce. We can’t believe he has turned 7 years old. He may have slowed down a little but is still our puppy.
After his daily walk, Luce likes a little rest and to cool down. On this day, I needed to go down to the garage after our walk so he decided to lay down and rest. since it was a nice cool day, he stayed out in the open. If it was sunny and warm, he would have went to the shade.
Luce’s favorite place to be is on our bed. Even more so when we are also in it, but, in that case, he sometimes gets warm. When it is just him, he can stay as long as he wants. On this nice January day, there was no chance of getting too warm.
Merry Christmas this 2023 from our family to yours. Luce likes where we put the tree this year as it is more out of the way. This is a learning experience since this in only our second Christmas here in Georgia.
Luce got an antler for Christmas and he really seems to be enjoying it.
It is no secret that Luce absolutely hates the heat. It has been that was since the day he came to us at 8 weeks old. On the other hand, he absolutely loves the cold weather. Here in Georgia, the weather is a bit colder and for longer than back in Northern California. Also, we now have more room and more places for Luce to enjoy it. I was working outside on the back screen door and Luce wanted to provide moral support. I put down a towel as I didn’t think he should be laying directly on the stone and he mostly complied. He slept though most of my work but I still appreciated his “effort”.
Luce is not one for doing tricks. He will “Shake” some of the time but that is not very spectacular. He is able to sit up and “beg” which is a little more impressive. Most of the time food is involved but this time he was just happy to perform for Stacey.
Now that the cooler weather is here, Luce likes being outside, especially on the stone front porch. I opened both doors so I could keep an eye on him. Not that we worry that he would wander off or anything like that. The worry would be that he would decide to find a more comfortable spot out under the trees.
After a short time he decided to get more comfortable right here.
The Hotel Hartness was built on the site of the 400+ acre Hartness Estate in Greenville, SC. There are miles of walking trails and open space that Luce loved. He found the chicken pen and his curiosity got the better of him. The chickens figured out pretty quickly that he was no threat.
