Well, we have been trying to clear out the garage and decided to sell the X-Pen that we used on occassion when Luce was a pup. I figured that it would be good to show the actual size with an actual dog in the X-Pen. In theory, that was good, but in actuality, Luce was probably not the right model to use. It sort of freaked him out so he was let out right away.
In case you are wondering, we did sell it for a very reasonable price.
Luce took a major liking to the new bath mat that Stacey bought. So much so that instead of being a new bath mat, it became Luce’s new blanket. Here is what happened when Stacey brough it home.
Apparently Lyla lake riding in the car with the ability to check out what is goin’ on outside. We though Luce was the only Berner that could be that cool.
Getting a new toy is always a good time for Luce. He especially like stuffed animals without the stuffing. Then again, he still tends to eat the stuffing if he has the chance. Anyway, the one he likes have a crinkly material inside that he likes to play with. Here he is getting not one, but 2 new toys.
This is a recurring situation at the top of the stairs when Lyla comes to visit. They both like to hang at the top of the stairs and see what is going on.
we think that Lyla had some of her own ideas to mix it up a little and have some fun and get Luce to agree.
We are thinking that he just wanted to take it easy and Lyla is so nice that she just went along.
We were able to get Luce to go in the Canoe which was very surprising. We think he though we might leave him behind which was possibly why he go in the canoe without any coaxing. This picture is a bit deceptive as is appears that he is out on the lake.
In reality we are only in about 2 feet of water and I am standing in the lake stabilizing the canoe. It would be fine if I had hooked up the outriggers but this was an impromptu event.
Actually he is wading around in the beautiful Lake Tahoe. There were several forest fires in the area which significantly limited visibility. Normally the other side of the lake would be perfectly clear. Most of the time the smoke was minimal but it was definitely noticeable.
Now for the water bowl part. Once he realized he could keep drinking the lake water, we had to make him get out.
Then it was back on dry land. Due to the drought, the lake level was down about 5 feet from maximum which provided a nice beach to hang out on. This seriously pissed off the lake front residents who tried to make us leave but in California, the zone between high and low water on lake Tahoe is California Public Trust Land and is open to the public.
Time for the annual trip to Lake Tahoe. Luce was packed and ready to go first thing in the morning. However, it took us a bit longer to get everything together.
Once we got there, Luce and Max made themselves comfortable. Although, they were not all that easy to step around with each of the weighing in a little over 100 lbs.
This is a site dedicated to the best dogs ever. Of course we are referring to Bernese Mountain Dogs. Obviously this is an extremely biased opinion but we don’t care, this is our site.
