Well, after a long summer in the heat and humidity, the weather is starting to turn just a little. To be fair, we have been told that the summer was actually very mild. Luce does not believe that for a hot second, pun intended. As it gets cooler, he can walk longer and seems to like it more.
What better place for pizza night but the dining room, and, what better place for Luce to be, then right under my spot at the table. He doesn’t even like pizza, well, not that he ever tried it.
Luce very much likes to have his daily walk in the neighborhood. Since it is pretty quit here and he “mostly” listens, we don’t really need to be on leash. Sometime, like today, he took advantage and ran up onto our neighbor’s front grass.
Luce usually does not some up into my home office but today he made an exception. This is the same carpet we had in the home office in California so he probably recognizes it. Regardless, the trip up the stairs probably tired him out.
Luce’s brother Max and his brother from another mother, Barron came for visit. Max seemed to really like the cool marble tile floor just as much as Luce does.

We had our next-door neighbors over for drinks and hors d’oeuvres and Luce was not very impressed with the whole affair. Stacey put out an amazing spread and a good time was had by all except for Luce who pretty much looked like this the whole time.
Well, its not quite the fireworks celebration we are used to back where we came from. Luce does not really care since he is here with his family. We had a quiet dinner and Luce was more than ready to join in the fun.
So after a bath, Luce really needs to be given a really good brushing. He really does not agree but is usually OK with it. Here, he really does not want to acknowledge what happened here and certainly does not want to talk about it.
After non-stop unpacking, set up, and cleaning we decided that we needed a little diversion. We headed south to the Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee. Of course Luce came along for the ride and was very popular with the hotel staff and guests. We started with some lunch and Luce got his own bowl of water. He was more interested in what we had to eat and drink.
After that was took a walk around the grounds which Luce liked as long he got to rest now and then in the shade.
Luce even walked out in the sun on a narrow dock with me. That is a double no-no for him since as you know, he hates the sun and as you may not know, he does not swim.
It is getting a little warmer here in Georgia so Luce seems to be looking for the cool spots, wherever he can find them. Here, he decided that the marble fireplace hearth in the living room was a good spot to cool off. Obviously there was no fire as he would have never gone anywhere near a source of heat. The design of the mantle was based on the same design we build in our last house with one major addition, the lion door knocker.
