While on a daily hike at Hendry’s Beack in Santa Barbara, we came across a group of Leonbergers. Ww actually ran into them quite a few times while we were there and they pretty much lept to themselves. There was a poodle with way too much energy and could run circles around all the BIG Dogs.
After a several mile hike on the beach, it time for some much deserved rest, in the nice cool shower. The funny thing is that he can’t really stay too long since he heats up the shower floor.
Luce gets around and we had several late lunch / early dinners at the Miramar Beach Bar at the Rosewood Miramar Beach Resort in Montecito. On this occasion the weather was perfect and we got a table with an umbrella so Luce did not get too hot.
We spend some time in Montecito and Luce got to go to the beach almost every day. In the morning it was not too sunny and he quickly learned to go in the ocean if he was getting too hot.
Luce was trying a new tactic which was to look pitiful with the hope of getting a scrap of food. Stacey is defiantly the weak link as he would not even try this with me. He even got here to hold his hand.
Luce does not like the sun. He gets hot easily and will avoid it if at all possible. He decided to come out on the deck while I was cleaning up and decided to plop down where you ask? Of course in the little slice of shade left.
I really did not think he would be able to manage jumping up and sitting on the swing but I was wrong. We sat there for a little while and defiantly got some odd looks from passers by.
When we go to a hotel with Luce, he loves to go lay in the shower on the nice cool tile.. There are many pictures like this throughout the blog so this gets added to the collection.
While we were at an outdoor restaurant with Luce, of course, the waiter gave Luce a carrot. Generally speaking, Luce like carrots but in this case he was probably looking for something a little more meaty.
This is Max, Luce’s brother from their litter of 5 boys. Max is currently living in Arizona and this is his house when we were visiting. This time we were not able to bring Luce but we were able to get a Berner fix anytime we wanted.
This is a site dedicated to the best dogs ever. Of course we are referring to Bernese Mountain Dogs. Obviously this is an extremely biased opinion but we don’t care, this is our site.
