Sold

Tuesday, April 12th, 2022

Well after a week on the market, the old homestead sold. We had moved out while it was on sale and since everything was packed, did not move back in after it sold. This was pretty confusing to poor Luce as I an sure he wondered why we were “back home” but not really. Here are our last family pictures in California.

As you can see, Luce did not seem all that interested. Luce did his best “big bad wolf” impression for the camera which caught Paddy and I by surprise.

Luce at the Short Term Rental

Monday, April 4th, 2022

After a week at Lyla’s house, it was time to move on. We got a short term rental in Ben Lomond which was perfect for us. Luce likes the fact that he got lots of walks but we had to keep him out of the brush as he picked up several ticks which were not fun to deal with. Here he is hanging on the patio while giving his nose a little bath.

Here is another pic from the other direction

We are Here, Sort Of

Friday, April 1st, 2022

We we finally arrived but unfortunately our house is not quite ready. At this point we do not have a kitchen or master bathroom so it would be a little difficult to live there. We are staying in the hotel for a few more days but Luce could not care less as long as he has a bed, food, and us… he is all good.

Happy 5th Birthday “E” Litter

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022

Luce got to celebrate his big 5 birthday with Lyla this year. He actually found some energy and played tug-o-war with Lyla which she seemed to love.

Afterward, he decided he needed a little rest on the sofa. I guess he figured that since he was now 5 years old, he should be able to enjoy the all the comforts.

This was actually a surprise to me and after taking this pic, I made him get down. Well, that’s my story anyway, and I am sticking to it.

Staying with Lyla

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022

Lyla’s family was so generous that they offered to let us stay at their house when we moved out of ours when it went up for sale. They were traveling for the week so we doggie-sat Lyla so it was a big win-win for us. Stacey got lots of Lyla (AKA The Flying Squirrel) time. Luce made himself right at home on the nice and cool wood floor while Lyla kept watch.

After a while, she figured it was time to take a rest herself.

Our Last Fire

Saturday, March 19th, 2022

Well, things are winding down fast here in California as we get ready to move to Georgia. Here, we are enjoying our last fire in the fireplace as we were trying to burn the last of the firewood before we move. The fire is difficult to see in this picture but it is there. As usual, Luce tries to stay away form any sources of heat which obviously includes the fireplace. He seems very interested in our faces and no, Stacey does not have him in headlock.

Luce resting with his Lammy and Monkey

Saturday, February 5th, 2022

If there is a dog that can look more comfy than Luce, I have not seen them as of yet. He seems to like lay on the soft (faux) lamb rug. In fact, he really like soft things which is funny as you would think that since he is so fluffy, he would not care one was or the other since he is always laying on his own fur carpet.

This angle shows how he was holding his Monkey at the time, and no, this was not a set-up.

Previously he was playing with Donkey (to the right) but was done with him at this point.

On a hike to the Marine Discovery Center in Santa Cruz

Sunday, January 23rd, 2022

We took Luce on a nice hike to the Seymour Marine Discovery Center in Santa Cruz. It was more of a walk than a hike as it was all flat and paved but for a lazy dog like Luce, it was work. It was a beautiful morning and not too hot for him. He stopped here and struck a perfect Berner pose.

Lyla is back for a short visit

Friday, January 7th, 2022

Luce’s on again/ off again GF came for a short visit. Her parents dropped her off with plenty of her favorite toys but she really likes to be a good guest and give some attention to Luce’s toys.

Luce is always happy to share and after awhile they just crashed on the cool tile floor.

Merry Christmas 2021

Saturday, December 25th, 2021

Luce and I (and Stacey too) would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas

This has been a tough few month or so starting to prepare to move across the country. A good bit of the house is now packed up and the rest will be soon.
