Nico came to us on August 7, 2006 and left us way too soon. We do not know how old he was since the papers that the rescue recieved do not seem to be authentic. He was saved from a puppy mill in Michigan and was one of 2 breeding males. He was found by chance by a prospective puppy buyer and saved through the hard work of a local rescue organization. Below are some pictures of him from when he came to us until his spirit left.
Here are 2 pictures during and after his first bath with us. He had an
accident in the crate so this was literally his first hour with us. He was
about 58 lbs in these pictures.
That first week or so, he preferred to be outside. He didn't seem to understand
that he was welcome everywhere so we gave him his space and let him figure
that out for himself.
Eventually, he picked his favorite spot in the house which also happens to
be the hardest to get around. After all he has been through, he can lay
anywhere he wants. So, we put his bed there and that is where he usually wants
to be.
Here is nico laying with his front paws crossed. He seems to do this naturally
in case you were wondering if this was posed.
Everyone gets dressed up for Halloween!
And he is filling out quite nicely.
Here are a few videos of Nico in the house and running with Stacey down the end of the street to the open space. They are fairly large so they may take a while to download.
